In the 1800’s before the railroads, the fur trade was going very strong, they used mule trains to transport the furs from the west coast to Missouri. In 1840 the hat industry changed the style of hats, and the need for beaver pelts were not needed anymore. Thus the discontinuance of the fur trade. But the Mule skinners had found another source of moving goods, wagons were slow, and very hard to move heavy loads, so the mule train became a good source of goods for the many pioneers going to Oregon, and California gold rush. Although a lot of the stories had a truth in them, this story is purely fiction, the characters are not real. The men in the days of the pioneers were a breed of hard workers, and were very tough, there were outlaws, Indians, and many other obstacles in there path. This story is about adventure, love, and commitment.
