The summer holiday on Ibiza brings two big problems for Pietro: how to earn money to pay for a doctor for his grandfather, and at the same time keep an eye on Amanda, a lively young American who has been stranded in Ibiza as the result of a silly prank. Pietro can earn money by continuing his grandfather’s delivery rounds with the mule-cart and by posing for photographs with Modestine the mule, but these two occupations leave him no time to look after Amanda, who certainly cannot be left to her own devices. Pietro‘ s problems seem insoluble, but Amanda has her own way of dealing with them – and sets the whole town m an uproar.
Autor: Helen Cress well was educated at Nottingham High School and King’s College, London. She has been a literary assistant and a teacher, and has worked in BBC television in the west of England. She is now married with. a baby daughter, and spends a good deal of her time in writing. Her book The White Sea Horse has been very well received in the United Kingdom and abroad, and is now being published in America, Denmark, Holland and Sweden. Maureen Eckersley trained at Skipton School of Art and the Chelsea Polytechnic. After working in London and Yorkshire for a time, she married and now lives in Edinburgh. She derives great pleasure from her well-loved ‚hobby‘, book illustration.
