Zeke and Zack were two little mules and they were twins. They belonged to little Sim, but were very naughty and never would do anything he told them to do unless they wanted to. One day they followed him home and climbed up the steps almost inside his front door. That gave little Sim an idea. He thought he would have a circus in the bam and get all the other animals to do their tricks as well as the mule twins. Everybody came and thought it all great fun. The mule twins had circus frills round their necks, but they were naughty and sat in a comer and wouldn’t do anything. But suddenly they jumped up and made all the children laugh and clap their hands, and did all their tricks beautifully to please little Sim. You can see from the pictures that they enjoyed themselves too.
